hard times...

The past couple of weeks have been the hardest days of my life. I lost someone very dear to me, my beautiful nephew Karson. He was so full of life and always had a smile on his face. If he didn't, it was probably b/c Conner was trying to take a toy away!! :) He was Conner's Best friend and my sisters heart. He made a huge impact on this world and will never be forgotten. I love you Karson and you will always have a place in my heart :) Please keep my sister in your prayers.

Vacation is finally here!!!

So for the next several days this will be my home!! I am working a little this morning and we head out at lunch. Conner is so excited! He woke up saying "I go play in beach". I hope everyone has a great weekend, I know I will...

Georgia Bound on Friday!!

I started packing today for my weekend trip to Georgia!! I am really excited about this trip b/c 1. I get to meet my new precious nephew, Grayson :) 2. Get to see my lovely Karson who I miss oh so oh so very much and 3. I get to see my sister that I miss. Oh, and we are bringing the fam home minus Simon for a whole week!! Mother's day just happens to be this same weekend and I get to spend it with my mom, my sweet sweet boy and sister and nephews. I really need this weekend b/c I have had a case of the blues for sometime now. Finals are coming up and all Jody does is study so we do not get to spend time with him. I am mentally drained from my stupid job which I am not fond of anymore. If you know of any job openings anyone, please let me know. I have also been on the go alot to stay out of Jody's way so he can concentrate on studying. I'm not trying to complain b/c he is doing really good and I am so proud of him. Also, we are going on vacation at the end of the month and I would normally be bouncing off the walls about now but the oil spill has put a damper on my spirits. The oil is supposedly heading to the pan handle of Florida and that is exactly where we are heading. This will be our first family vacation and it may not happen. I feel like I am being kinda selfish, but I am more upset about all the poor wildlife that is being affected. I am a big animal lover and hate seeing animals suffer. I just hope they get this situation under control  soon before it creates more damage. I will have pictures to come of my fun adventure to GA and I hope everyone has a great weekend!! oh and thanks for reading my very very randon thoughts.

Day in the Park 5k!!

Saturday was such a great day even though the weather was quite yucky!! It started out by a very sleepless night. I think I woke up every hour checking my clock to make sure my alarm was going to go off. At 6 am, I finally jumped out of bed and started getting ready. It was such a relief not to hear thunder. Last week was supposed to be my first 5k but the weather ruined it :( Anyway, after we got ready, we went to the park and registered Jody. Jody was not going to race but I needed someone there for moral support and he is just the person to give that to me. I love him so much. As we lined up my stomach started getting butterflies and I felt like I was going to puke. It was alot of excitement and nervousness all in one. They had to give instructions right before the race and it seemed like it took forever. Finally they said go and I took off. I was on such a high that the hills did not even bother me at first. What got me is that it was 100% hummidity and I could not get a good deep breathe. Right at about mile 2 my breathing started to bother me. I had never ran in this type of situtation so it was a learning experience. As I was coming up to the finish line, I started to speed up. All the cheering and great support gave me a huge boost!! My time on my watch was 27:55 but the clock said 27:43. I think I will take there time. I came in 2nd in the female 25-29, 7th in all female, and 56 out of 187 runners. I feel like I did great for my first race. I have 3 races coming up on my calender. May 15th- Running for a Mission 5k in Oak Grove, MS, June 12th-2010 Hot Trot 5k at Lulu's in Gulf Shores, AL, July 3- Watermelon Classice 5k in Jackson. I know I will probably not place in these but I absolutley loved the experience and crossing the finish line and setting PR's for myself. Hope everyone has a great week.
