recycled projects...

The past couple of weeks I have been thinking about christmas presents and money. We really want to build conner a playhouse but looking at the designs and cost to build these things is pretty much RIDICULOUS!!!! $1200 and higher!! I have researched and researched and if you know me well I love GOOGLE. I came across a website that gives directions on how to build a playhouse out of wooden pallets!

Isn't it crazy that this playhouse was made of wooden pallets. It cost roughly $200 to build this playhouse. This was including paint. After finding this, I started searching other things that could be built with wooden pallets and I was shocked. Check the pictures out below.

I have the sudden urge to do some building. Happy Wednesday to all!!

It's that time of year...

Well, its that time of year that I have to start coming up with ideas for Christmas and Conner's Birthday. He has been wanting a bike so Santa Claus will be bringing that to him and then I started thinking about Birthday presents. I am thinking it is time for him to have a play house. I came across these designs and really think it can be built by my hubby and his awesome dad!! (Conner's Pawpaw) I would have loved to have one of these as a kid so I'm gonna guess that he will love it too!!

I really want the play house to be tall enough to have a loft.

I think we will go with this design for the inside.

September...

So far this month, we have made a trip to Florida to see my sister and play on the beach and this past weekend we made a quick one day trip to New Orleans to the zoo. Conner was amazed at all the animals and frankly I was too!! Going to the zoo really makes me feel like a kid and thats something that I needed to feel. MY 10 year class reunion is approaching this weekend and its made me feel a little old. How I'm coping with this??? Running 13.1 miles in October. I am not letting these years keep me down. I honestly feel the best I have felt in years!! I did manage to run 7 miles yesterday and actually feel pretty good about my time. I kept about an 11:20 pace the whole time which is pretty okay. I am hoping to improve that time this week. I have got to run 8 miles come this Saturday and  a little nervouse about it!!
I am really missing all of my friends right now :( Jody seems to be studying all the time these days which is pretty good b/c he has not played World or warcraft in like a WHOLE WEEK!!! I would rather the books have him instead of that stupid game!! Bible Study seems to be cut out for a while since Jody's not able to go I don't think I am able to control Conner by myself. He is wearing me out physically and mentally. He has started throughing these really bad temper tantrums that is hard for easy going me to deal with. He has started getting a really bad attitude as well. If we get on to him, he has started getting right back on to us and telling us NO!! I really do hope 3's are better than 2's. Don't get me wrong, he has his sweet moments too!! He has some really good manners. He always tells us thank you. we are working on yes mam and no mam. He really loves his grandparents but what kid doesn't!! They spoil him rotten!! (both sets) We are truely blessed to have such loving parents that do anything they can to help us out. Well I really need to get back to work. Here are a couple of pictures from the past weekends :)

Dougie went with us to FL :)

6 mile run twice this week :)

yes, it has been one of those weeks where I have needed a couple of long runs to clear my head. I am trying really hard to go by a schedule for my 1/2 marathon coming up but just can't seem to with my schedule and Jody's crazy schedule. I do feel like I am up to speed at where I'm supposed to be. Sunday, I am going to shoot for a 7 miler. Should be pretty smooth. So what else has been going on besides lots and lots of running???? Well, I am going to be an aunt again come May. Val is preggers with baby #3. :) Conner is going to Highland 3 days a week and seems to like it pretty well. I have to give him his pep talk every morning but his teachers tell me he does great! Jody is always studying so we do not see him much :( I am trying to talk him into going to the New Orleans zoo tomorrow. Just me, him and Conner!! I think we need some serious bonding time. Anyway, I am super tired right now and would LOVE to put my head and my desk and just crash but I still have an hour and a half of work left. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!

5.33 miles

Well, I did not sign up in time for St. Jude :( So now I have offically decided and signed up for the Jazz 1/2 marathon which is October!! October is right around the corner and I have alot of miles to run to get in shapet for this. I ran 5.33 miles yesterday and my right knee is not feeling too hot today. :( I think I am going to invest in a knee brace today before my next run which is tonight. Not sure if its the shoes (which I love) or just the distance that is so hard on them. Yesterday was not a flat run by any means. I ran in my neighorhood and some streets near by. There are several hills that I'm running on and they are not fun. I'm really hoping that the Jazz 1/2 is pretty flat. I did learn a new trick about hills, once I got to a hill a started counting backyards from 32 and by the time I was finished I was up the hill. I have to do something to keep my mind off the legs and pain. Hope everyone has a wonderful long 3 day weekend!! SMTTT!!
